Year 2 Black Country Living Museum visit.
Dear Parent/Carer,
We are very excited to offer Year 2 children the opportunity to visit our very own local landmark, The Black Country Living Museum. This links in with our History and Design and Technology topics on vehicles.
The visit is booked for Thursday 16th April. We will leave at 9.00am and return before the end of the school day. We will be on 2 coaches fitted with seatbelts.
The children will have the opportunity to experience the nationally recognised transport collection demonstrating transport through the ages, from horse drawn vehicles to the motor car and climb on board a bus, trolleybus or tram for a unique experience. They will also have a guide to engage and immerse them in the past, exploring different buildings and talking to some very interesting characters. To top it all off we will participate in a 1912 lesson in St James’s School and have time to visit some of the other exhibitions in the museum.
We will require some parental help on the day so please fill in the online form below if you are interested and free on that day.
The children will need to bring a “NUT FREE” packed lunch or order one from the school canteen. Please do not send in any money for the gift shop as there will not be time during our visit. Thank you.
The children should wear school uniform as normal on the day and footwear that is comfortable to walk in.
As the cost of many things has risen with inflation over the last few years, we have tried hard to get the best deal we can and the cost of the coach and admittance to the museum comes to £21.20, this can be aid via your parent pay account.
As with all trips we can only go ahead if we get enough voluntary contributions for the cost.
We are sure that all the children will enjoy this great experience which will enhance their learning.
Please follow the link below to order a packed lunch from school and if you are able to volunteer on the day. We will get back to any willing volunteers to confirm we require your help as soon as possible. The form will close on Friday 13th March after this date no more orders for packed lunches can be taken.
Yours sincerely,
Year 2 Team
